Meet the Elrods, Jimmy Dean (top), Denise Renae (center) and their friend Robert Wayne Crane (bottom).

These folks from Pryor, Oklahoma, a small town just east of Tulsa, invented a solution to a problem which has vexed many parents. That problem being childhood masturbation.

While the Elrods and their adopted 8 year old son and 9 year old daughter were living with Mr. Crane in his two bedroom home in Pryor, the threesome tried various solutions to the boy’s “masturbation problem”. They routinely tied the boy up each night at bedtime. The boy was placed on his back with his hands above his head, then he was wrapped in a sheet and a sweatshirt and tied to a storage box.

Evidently that didn’t totally solve the problem, as eventually an additional measure was taken, the boys penis was pierced with a “hog ring”. This also supposedly to prevent the 8 year old from masturbating.

The Elrods and Crane where charged with injury to a minor child and lewd molestation. Each pleaded guilty, the Elrods received concurrent 20 year sentences on both counts and Crane received concurrent 24 year sentences on both counts. Each must serve at least 85% of their sentences before being eligible for parole.
