Goodbye Virginia Sanders

A Bubbaworld Editorial
The voters in Choctaw, McCurtain and Pushmataha Counties in Oklahoma have spoken and what they said at the August 22, 2006 run-off election for the office of District Attorney was “Goodbye Virginia Sanders”.
The final results for the District 17 run-off election indicate that Laura Ross Wallis received 68.83% of the vote while current District Attorney Virginia Sanders received only 31.17%. With no Republican or Independent candidate filing for the office, Wallis will be the next District Attorney for Choctaw, McCurtain and Pushmataha Counties.
At Bubbaworld we are not surprised that Sanders was trounced in the election. When a District Attorney refuses to file criminal charges against an admitted and repeat child rapist something needs to be done and clearly the voters have made known their displeasure over Sanders’ refusal to uphold the law.
Hopefully District Attorney Elect Laura Ross Wallis will insure that one of her first official acts upon assuming office in January, 2007 is to file criminal charges against admitted child rapist John Keith Tucker before the statute of limitations expires on his crimes.
You can rest assured that we at Bubbaworld along with many thousands of other interested parties across the internet will be watching to make sure that justice is served in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.
To Virginia Sanders, you got what you deserved. You were fired by the voters of District 17 for refusing to do your job. You turned a blind eye to the crimes of an admitted child rapist. One that victimized a teenage girl for years. For that you should be ashamed. Very ashamed.
Goodbye Virginia.
And good riddance.
