Rogers County Craziness
There appears to be an outbreak of craziness taking place in Rogers County.
Unfortunately it appears to be affecting those in or close to the legal system.
Case in point, Christie Miller’s children have been in foster care since December of last year. She’s still trying to get them back and the system seems intent on denying a ‘good mother’ her parental rights. The DHS claims that she had deprived her children and DHS took them away. While the children were in DHS custody and living in a foster home one of the children was mauled by a dog and required twenty-five stitches. If the children have been deprived, it’s while in DHS custody. Unless DHS considers a child’s face being ripped to pieces by a dog as a normal and desirable state of affairs. To make matters worse DHS claims one of the children had a “healing fracture of the right tibia”. Doctors at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa say there is no sign of the child ever having a fractured tibia. So who is lying, DHS case workers or medical professionals? Fawn Marie Kendall has also learned a valuable lesson is just how crazy the Rogers County justice system can be. Kendall made the mistake of reporting that she suspected that her now former boy friend was operating a meth lab in the home they shared. She’s now facing 10 years in prison and a $4,500 fine for her efforts. And yes, Kendall pleaded guilty. Odds are she figured the plea deal was better than the crap shoot that is Rogers County justice. Had she not taken the deal she likely would have been convicted and received a much longer sentence. This shameful example of justice run amok sends the message that if you suspect or are aware of a meth lab operating in Rogers County, Oklahoma you had better keep your mouth shut, get out of the area and don’t ask law enforcement to do anything about it, otherwise you will end up in prison yourself. Then there is the story of Ernest Eugene Haynes III, the son of Rogers County District Attorney Gene Haynes. The younger Haynes has been jailed on charges of eluding officers, running a roadblock, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, taxes due state, and driving under suspension. The charges of eluding, running a roadblock and DUI are all felonies, while the remaining charges are misdemeanors. The younger Haynes was arrested and charged with DUI last year, received a one year deferred sentence and probation, 20 hours of community service, and was ordered to attend DUI school. So, how about a show of hands?
Who actually believes that the DA’s son will receive as harsh a treatment at the hands of the Rogers County justice system as did the two unfortunate women mentioned above?
