Raye Dawn Smith Guilty

Raye Dawn Smith, charged with child abuse/permitting child abuse, in the death of Kelsey Smith-Briggs, age 2, was today found guilty of enabling child abuse by a Creek County jury in Bristow.

The jury recommended a 27 year prison sentence.

Formal sentencing is currently set for August 23rd.

I can’t believe that kelseys mother would stand for this…parents are supposed to protect their children….not let them be abused repeatedly…. i knew someone with a story of child abuse..and now the little girl i knew is suffering from uncurable brain damage because of abuse….someone stepped in before she was killed…..so where was kelseys mom to stop this from happening….and kelsey dying just days before her dada came home from the war….what a prick michael lee porter was to do that….no one should have to do that… our soldiers go through enough over sees they don’t need it at home too… i think they should both be in prison for life….if the death sentence is leagal in their state they shouldn’t be given an easy way out……they should have to live every day of the rest of their lives being reminded of what they did to this sweet and innocent little girl…
