Tropical Storm Erin

The remnants of Tropical Storm Erin brought death and destruction to Oklahoma this past weekend, leaving at least 6 dead and hundreds of homes and businesses damaged if not outright destroyed.

Governor Henry has declared 24 counties as disaster areas and will be asking for federal assistance in recovering from the storm.

Hopefully, Oklahoma’s treatment at the hands of FEMA will be better than the last two disaster when Oklahomans were basically told to “get over it” when FEMA rejected aid to many Oklahomans during last winter’s ice storms and this summer’s floods and did so without explanation.

One thing is for certain.
More natural disasters will befall Oklahoma; they always have.
About the best that we can hope for is that Oklahomans get a ‘fair shake’ from FEMA.
Something that hasn’t been happening much lately…
