The main point is, this young woman died at the hands of some sick and twisted man who snapped one night. Who knows what set him off, but the father really did hope for the best for his daughter. Although his reasoning wasn’t as good as it could be- Many of you could have better reasoning skills yourselves- he was trying to be a helpful father while at the same time trying not to impede on his daughter’s preferences. Any parent knows that this is a hugely difficult thing to do. He may have figured his daughter would rebel against him despite his wishes. It may have been safer for him to know what she was doing rather than to look the other way, because in his mind it could be worse if he did that.
