Celebrate and Get Busted
This past weekend Pauls Valley police were called out to a local residence regarding an assault and battery complaint.
Before it was all said and done a couple, Robert Dustin Peterson, 35, and Cindy Herrera, 24, along with Jerry Dewayne Watkins, 38, a friend of Peterson, were all busted on various charges.
It seems that there was a celebration of sorts that took place over the weekend and allegedly a bit of alcohol consumed and somewhere along the way things got a bit nasty between the couple.
So much so that they were both busted on allegations that they had a violent confrontation with three young children present in their home. The children reportedly range in age from an infant to 9-years-old.
According to news media reports, it started with a man who is reportedly Peterson’s uncle claiming that Peterson threatened him with a gun before striking him in the face after the uncle had gone at the residence to check on the children. This was evidently what prompted the visit from Pauls Valley police.
Upon arriving at the Peterson-Herrera home, the cops arrested Jerry Dewayne Watkins, of Blanchard, on an aggravated drunk driving complaint. This before they could deal with other issues.
At the house officers found a broken window.
In trying to sort out what happened, officers allegedly learned from Herrera that she used some of the shattered glass to strike Peterson on the back of the head. This after she allegedly heard him chamber a live round in his handgun and he reportedly pushed her into a wall during a confrontation.
Officer also learned that during the confrontation that Herrera grabbed a knife, which was taken away by Peterson.
Fortunately the cops got there before any major blood was shed.
Investigating officers say that alcohol was likely at the center of the dangerous situation, as Peterson exhibited the signs of being intoxicated.
And that is entirely possible, owing to the celebrating, partying and so forth.
After all, Peterson had cause to celebrate.
On Friday, Peterson, a Maysville, OK Police Officer, graduated from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) academy…
