Gene Stipe Goes To Springfield
At long last disgraced former Oklahoma state senator Gene Stipe is in the custody of the feds, if only for up to 30 days in order that he receives a mental evaluation.
He actually reported to the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri on Monday morning.
After his recent “performance” in federal court in Muskogee where the judge said Stipe appeared drugged or hypnotized and ordered a mental evaluation it is somewhat surprising that he did not have a heart attack or medical crisis to delay the trip to Springfield.
The Tulsa World in an article titled “Stipe enters prison for evaluation” provides reasonable coverage of the issue.
The Oklahoman via an article titled, “Stipe faces mental evaluation in prison” does a more in-depth but less complimentary job.
