How Many Fairs Are Going On?
One may be inclined to wonder how may fairs are going on in Tulsa currently judging from various news media reports.
In a report titled, “Fair is fairly safe – so far” the Tulsa World proclaims in regard to the Tulsa State Fair, “The first days are relatively free of accidents and crime.”
There there’s these reports from KOKI, channel 23. The first is titled, “EMSA responding to lots of calls at the fair” which address the apparent record pace at which EMSA is having to respond to calls at the Fair. The second report is titled, “Suspect arrested in fair restroom” which reveals that a registered sex offender was prowling the women’s restrooms at the Tulsa State Fair and was taking pictures while doing so.
While one can and should expect the Tulsa World to downplay any “bad news” regarding Tulsa and/or the Tulsa State Fair, there comes a time when one begins to wonder if there aren’t actually two Tulsa State Fairs going on at the same time, the real one and a second; the Tulsa World fantasy version.
Four children injured and hospitalized due to accidents on fair rides is a bit more serious than the Tulsa World’s proclamation of, “Two minor accidents that day sent four children to area hospitals as a precaution.” According to every local news media report other than that of the Tulsa World, the children required treatment, not just observation.
And if the Tulsa World does not consider a registered sex offender with a camera stalking women in the ladies room as being serious crime, one can only wonder what the Tulsa World does consider serious crime.

I have to wonder just how much crime went on while the fair was in town?
I tried the Tulsa PD crime mapper and since the Fair is not in “Tulsa Proper” that entire area has NO CRIMES REPORTED! (Guess it is county property and does not count?)
While I am sure the County may have the crime records nobody is talking about how safe or dangerous that section of town is.
I am sure cars were broken into, some even stolen while on the fairgrounds and the only thing I saw the news talk about was the fact that cameras would keep us safe? Well while they may record the event; NOTHING WAS DONE TO STOP IT, let alone report the crime after it happened. It would be nice to know just how much trouble that area has but fear the reason nobody will ever talk about it is simple = MONEY!
