Katherine Rutan Sentenced
Katherine Rutan, also known as Katherine Rutan Pollard, was today sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Rutan was found guilty in a jury trial in August of the murder of her son Logan Tucker, age 6, who has not been seen in five years and whose body has yet to be found.
Sentencing for Rutan was held in the Woods County Courthouse, in Alva, Oklahoma, where the trial was held after being moved from Woodward County on a change of venue request by the defense.
Prosecutors maintained that Rutan killed Logan Tucker and disposed of his body in a rural location. Rutan told a variety of stories as to what happened to Logan, claiming at times he was taken by her brother, child welfare workers and others. Rutan’s younger son said that Rutan took him and Logan into the country and Logan did not return.
That Katherine Rutan (Pollard) will spend the rest of her life in prison where she belongs is a good thing for society in general. Hopefully the bones of Logan Tucker will one day be found and given the proper funeral they deserve.
Some people should never have children and Katherine Rutan is a prime example of those that should not…
Considering what the age of her other son is, his story of her going into the woods with the boy and him not coming back may or may not be valid. He could be lying or confused about that. And while it is suspicous that she gave different stories concerning his whereabouts (assuming the cops aren’t lying, which they are prone to do), it is by no means justification to put her in prison for life. Bubbaworld has the audacity to write that this woman “deserves” to spend the rest of her life in prison when the child may still be alive!!!! Bubbaworld has a history of not getting the whole story before passing judgment. I happen to know this for a fact. I wonder something: if this child shows up one day and it turnes out the mother was completely innocent all along, will Bubbaworld openly apologize for it’s comments? Or the person who actually wrote it apologize leaving their name and not just hide behind the Bubbaworld name?
This woman may very well be guilty, but get more info than what you get before blasting people on the world wide web.
Let’s see… “I wished I could kill my children and get away with it.” “Sir, will you call the cops and tell them that you are my brother… and tell them Logan is okay?!” “He’s at DHS… No… My Brother has him…. uh… He’s in a mental hospital?” Yeah… She SOUNDS INNOCENT TO ME!!!! Those Poor Kids! She was so busy trying to live HER life, those sweet children were in HER way!
You don’t know what the cops lied about and what they didn’t. You don’t know who was bought off to lie on the stand and who wasn’t. I happen to know from personal experience that cops (pigs) will twist any story around to fit their agenda. Even when it involves covering a rape on a child committed by one of their own!! I’m not necessarily on her side, since I wasn’t there. She might be guilty as sin, I honestly don’t know. What do YOU know aside from what you heard from gossip or from the pigs? I do think it is mighty suspicious that the big bad smart boys in blue can’t outsmart one lone woman “criminal” in at least finding a body!!!
All I’m trying to point out is when it involves the cops, there is almost ALWAYS more to the story. Unless you actually saw with your own eyes her take the child and kill him, please don’t be so quick to judge.
Trial witness Rick Cody testified that she said “I wish there was some way I could kill my kids and get away with it”
Trial witness Paul Mullins testified that she told him, “she felt trapped and wondered when she would be able to enjoy her freedom”
Trial witness Christi Lennington Vaughn testified that AFTER Logan’s disappearance that Pollard claimed Logan Tucker had been taken away by DHS workers and Pollard said “that it felt like the stress had just melted”
During this same time frame, the weekend after which Logan went missing, Pollard was photographed participating in a topless contest during a motorcycle rally. The photos were introduced into evidence at trial. When Pollards then “boyfriend” testified about that time in her life he said “she was smiling”.
Melody Lennington testified that about 3 a.m. on June 23, she was awoken by Logan Tucker’s scream. She thought he might be having a nightmare. When she asked Pollard about the boy later in the morning she was told by Rutan-Pollard that she put Logan in the basement “because he was sick”. 3 a.m. on June 23 is the last time anyone could attest to Logan Tucker being alive.
Ron Cathcart, Rutan’s father, testifed that a couple months prior to Logan’s disappearance the child begged his grandparents to let him live with them. Logan said his mom told him the kids would have to live with someone else.
Fancie Hamilton testified that Rutan-Pollard told her Logan was living with his father in South Carolina.
Shirley Adams testified that Rutan-Pollard three days after Logan went missing told her that he had been taken to a mental hospital.
Jaime Adams, a former co-worker of Rutan-Pollard testified that she told her she had only one son, a 4-year-old.
Kevin Caudill of Collinsville, Kathy Link of Woodward, Diana Koehn of Fairview, and Fancie Hamilton of Woodward ALL testified that Rutan-Pollard asked them to lie to either her parents or law enforcement about her son’s whereabouts.
There’s more, lots more but I list these only because NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS A COP and everyone of them testified against Rutan-Pollard and about her relationship with her kids, her actions just prior to or after Logan’s disappearance or her asking them to lie for her.
Surely folks from all across Oklahoma did not participate in some vast conspiracy to frame Katherine Rutan-Pollard, did they?

Like I said before, I’m not necessarily taking her side on anything. But from what was posted above, it sounds strangely familiar to what I experienced in my own criminal case. Many people supposedly came forward and said this and said that. It was things that were either taken completely out of context, and twisted around, or statements that were outright lies.
My ex went through the same situation. He was acquitted in Sept. “04, after various “witnesses” were proven liars on the stand. What did bubbaworld do? They basically slanted the story to make it appear as though a guilty child molester was getting off because of a technicality, and all but called the judge a crackpot. That was far from the truth.
I’m glad that NOT ONE SINGLE COP was responsible for what may very well be a murder in Rutan Pollards case, but that’s certainly not what happend with me. And if you watch enough news, you will notice that time and time again it is also not what is happening in the rest of the country. The people all across Oklahoma don’t HAVE to get together to try and frame a person. Haven’t you figured out by now how easily lawyers can twist a case right in a courtroom. Even if people are, “telling the truth”, the lawyers can make sure it is presented in a way to work to their advantage. If she got stuck with a public defender, then she was screwed anyway, guilty or not. If the cops don’t screw you over, the lawyers will.
If we called the judge a crackpot it was probably because the judge is a crackpot.
We have several crackpot judges in Oklahoma.
It seems that with some of them, when they aren’t busy masturbating in court they are granting child custody to child molesters and registered sex offenders.
Sorry it took SOOOOO long to respond, but I’ve been busy. If your still paying attention to this would you please explain your above post? What do you mean the judge is a crackpot if you say he is a crackpot? What info. do you have about this particular judge?
Also, you can rest assured on this case. The judge did not return my children to a convicted sex offender. He returned them to me, and I am NOT a convicted sex offender.
What do you KNOW about Judge Goodpaster? Aside from this one case. The details you presented on it here are sketchy at best, though that’s not altogether your fault since corrupt officials like to keep the media in the dark about many things. But seriously, what info. do you have about the history and past court dealings of Judge Goodpaster?

You sound like the little spoiled rich brat from Texas – raised by her grandmother because her mother was a misfit drug addict – who knowingly married my step-nephew, Michael Aaron Childress, a child molestor who tried to kill his wife. Katherine Rutan-Pollard is as guilty of the murder of her son as the Roman empire is guilty of the murder of Christ. Logan’s body was never found because law enforcement did not use all at their disposal to find this boy. The same search and rescue dogs used in downtown OKC in 1995 to pull survivors out of the Murrah Federal Building are the same dogs, including cadaver dogs, that could and should have been used in a five mile radius search of Rutan-Pollard’s home. Tucker Lynn Logan and his brother are DHS failures. Both had been removed from the home as a result of abuse before, and returned in spite of the fact that Katherine Pollard exhibited no real desire to have Tucker in her life. She contacted DHS a week before the murder and told DHS to come get both kids, she wanted to put them up for adoption. She didn’t want them anymore. Either of them. DHS scheduled an appt to do that very thing — the following week when it was convenient. Had they contacted CPS to pick up both boys, contacted the police dept to pick up both boys and filed abuse charges against Katherine Rutan-Pollard THE VERY DAY SHE CALLED AND WANTED THE BOYS GONE Tucker would still be alive. DHS has a 75% failure to keep kids safe in Oklahoma ratio. They are one reason why Oklahoma is 4th in the nation for vicious crime against children and women.
As a Police Science major, and a survivor of childhood physical and sexual abuse — including prostitution — your comments in defense of Katherine Rutan-Pollard (who is another Billie Ruth Dempsey-Hutchison-Downey) makes me believe you are no different than the woman, one of hundreds of thousands in America, who gladly and with malice aforethought, murdered her child.
