Waiting For Celine Dion

Tickets went on sale today for the November 13, 2008 Celine Dion concert in Tulsa.

Dion’s is the first big name act to be signed for the Tulsa BOK Center, which isn’t even completed yet but which might be by the time Dion arrives in Tulsa.

And some folks apparently already have “sticker shock” over the price of tickets, which for the Celine Dion concert range in price from $49.50 for the cheap seats to $167 for the seats with a view.

So what else is new?

Honestly folks, when you voted for the Vision 2025 proposal to, among other things, construct Tulsa’s new playground for the rich and faux-rich did you actually believe that you would be able to afford to attend the “big name events” that would be held there?

You mean you did not learn anything from the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, a venue for events often beyond the financial means of the vast majority of taxpayers whose dollars built it also?

And least there be any doubt about the level of excitement both the Celine Dion concert in specific and the BOK Center in particular are generating, just take a look at this report from KOTV – Channel 6 in Tulsa:

Celine Dion Tickets Go On Sale – Link

I especially liked the shot of all those folks standing in line Monday morning to get those Celine Dion tickets before they sold out.

I figure that must have been at least six, maybe seven of them…
