Fairgrounds Purge Continues
It appears to this writer that a concerted effort is underway to purge the Tulsa Fairgrounds of anything not horse show related.
And it now looks as if another long-term Tulsa Fairgrounds tenant, the Tulsa Flea Market, is doomed to follow Bell’s Amusement Park out the gates of the Fairgrounds.
The owners of the Tulsa Flea Market say they have only a little while to find a new home or they’ll be forced to close after 35 years.
The Exchange Center was always home to the Tulsa Flea Market. That is until the Flea Market was driven from that facility so that it could be demolished. Upon leaving the Exchange Center the flea market was moved to the Trade Center. That too is scheduled to be demolished shortly. This as long standing Tulsa Fairgrounds facilities are demolished to make way for next year’s Arabian horse show.
Odds are high that the Tulsa Flea Market will also be driven from the Tulsa Fairgrounds just as was Bell’s Amusement Park. This owing to Tulsa County Commissioners and the Tulsa County Fair Board doing their level best to destroy much if not all of what made the Tulsa Fairgrounds special and attractive to actual residents of Tulsa.
At least the Tulsa Drillers are making efforts to locate away from the Fairgrounds before their turn comes to get the boot from Randi Miller and her band of cronies intent on turning the Tulsa Fairgrounds into a horse show and nothing more.
Someone needs to explain to Tulsa County Commissioners Randi Miller, Fred Perry and John Smaligo that county fairgrounds are supposed to be facilities primarily for the use and benefit of county residents. They are not supposed to be revenue streams for county officials and out of town interests intent on turning them into business opportunities for themselves.

You should definitely find a better job… actually that was pretty well written
