Enternal Optimists or Insane
The Board of Trustees of Locust Grove, Oklahoma has evidently decided to do the same thing again while expecting a different result this time.
The Trustees have appointed Joe Caldwell to serve a portion of the unexpired term of a former member who was kicked off the Board of Trustees for failing to show up for Board of Trustee meetings.
The new board member, Joe Caldwell, is the old board member kicked out for missing at least half of the meetings over a four month period.
According to “The Daily Times” of Pryor:
Mayor Shawn Bates said Caldwell had trouble making it to several special meetings that were called in the last four months. Caldwell works outside of the county and was not able to make it to the special meetings.
Bates said Caldwell talked to board members about his vacant position.
“He said he would love to stay on the board,” said Bates.
Caldwell has been appointed to his former office, at least until the 2009 general election at which time he will have to face the voters and ask to be permitted to serve out the remainder of the term for which he was originally elected.
Appointing a person to an office he was kicked out of for failing to do the job he promised to do gives one cause wonder if the other Locust Grove Board of Trustee members are eternal optimists or just insane.
