Democratic Rep. Scott Inman of Del City wants a new law to require that anyone with a drunk driving conviction to have it noted on their driver’s license.

The new ‘Scarlet DD’ driver’s licenses might make a neat addition to the ‘Scarlet SO’ drivers’ license, denoting sex offenders.

Come to think of it, there are others that Rep. Inman might wish to include, here’s a short list of stuff we can add to Oklahoma drivers’ licenses:

‘Scarlet A’ – To denote those convicted of adultery.

‘Scarlet AR’ – To denote those convicted of armed robbery

‘Scarlet CA’ – To denote those convicted of child abuse.

‘Scarlet D’ – To denote those convicted of a drug crime.

‘Scarlet DA’ – To denote those convicted of domestic abuse.

‘Scarlet DD’ – To denote those convicted of drunk driving.

‘Scarlet MS’ – To denote those convicted of manslaughter.

‘Scarlet WC’ – To denote those convicted of white collar crime.

And of course the ‘Scarlet IP’ – This to denote idiot politicians pandering to the other idiots that elected them and doing so with silly schemes and laws such as that introduced by Rep. Inman.

If Rep. Inman is really interested in reducing drunk driving then he needs to introduce legislation make ALL drunk driving offenses felonies with the first offense carrying a mandatory sentence of no less than one year in jail, the second offense a mandatory sentence of three years in prison and third and any subsequent offense a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years in prison and each sentence without the possibility of parole, probation or time off for good behavior.

Then Rep. Inman can say he actually did something other then peeing on our leg while trying to convince us it’s raining…
