Masturbating Judge Going Home
Donald D. Thompson, the infamous “Masturbating Judge of Creek County, Oklahoma” will be released from prison soon, very soon.
It seems that Thompson, sentenced for indecent exposure to four one-year prison terms to be served consecutively, is getting a lot of time off his sentence for “good behavior”, more than two years worth of time off his sentence.
Reportedly Thompson will be returning to Sapulpa, in Creek County, Oklahoma where he will be required to register as a sex offender and abide by the rules associated with that status and of course the terms of his parole.
Although Thompson’s records with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections indicate that he is currently serving his sentence in the Oklahoma State Reformatory at Granite, Oklahoma he has in fact been serving his time in the Roger Mills County jail at Cheyenne. Prior to that he was in the McClain County jail in Purcell. Owing to Thompson’s status as a former judge who sentenced many persons to the Oklahoma prison system, security concerns required that he be “farmed out” and kept away from other convicts.
We can pretty much expect Thompson to waste no time in attempting to get his yearly $93,474.12 pension reinstated. That pension was revoked following Thompson’s felony conviction. Thompson also receives nearly $300 in monthly retirement benefits from his term in the Oklahoma Legislature. Apparently felony convictions do not result in the revocation of legislative pensions, which makes sense since so many Oklahoma legislators and former legislators end up with felony convictions.
No word yet on whether Thompson will also seek the return of his penis pump.
The penis pump became the focal point of the trial as the jury watched in awe as the device Thompson and his attorney claimed was broken and inoperative hung from the arm of the prosecutor, held there by nothing more than the suction of the supposed inoperative device.
With Thompson’s removal from the bench, conviction and prison sentence he has had a “lot of time on his hands”. Hopefully he will remain on his supposed “good behavior” and not resort to old habits.
He probably ought to forgo the penis pump…
I find everything this man did dispicable and destestable. It is in absolute contravention of judicial ethics and even human ethics. I also, however, believe that any “person” – and I am not sure I can define him as such – who commits such haneous acts must be “mentally ill.” No one in their “right mind” could conduct themselves in such a manner. Yes, of course, he needs to be: 1) Punished; and 2) Never again be given the opportunity to harm others who are, even if criminals, people. However, continued degradation of this man is not going to solve his mental illness.
We can all critisize his conduct, for it is truely the meaning of reprehensible. However, can any of us – now that he has been adjudicated guilty and forced to take responsibility for his dispicable misconduct – now suggest a way that he can rehabilitate himself not only for his own benefit but for the protection of our society from his potential recidivism? Can we, now that he has been dehumanized, suggest a re-humanization program? Or, is it just better to continue to degrade him? His conduct clearly did NOT serve societies interest. Reporting of his misconduct DID serve society’s interest – to expose (no pun intended) his conduct for punishment and to ensure there would be no repetition. What societal benefit does lack of forgiveness (and to forgive is NOT to forget or to let him re-offend) and continued humiliation serve?
I wonder if they are going to overturn all of the convictions passed while he was on the bench doing this stuff? How many innocent people are sitting in jail now because he was too distracted to hear the case properly? I’m glad he’s off the bench. The lives and freedom of people are just too important to be messing around with.
He can go squeeze that pump all he wants to now!
