Cops Say Man Eats Glass Crack Pipe
Eljuan Heath, a 41-year-old Tulsa man, has been busted by Tulsa cops on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and destroying evidence.
That’s the ho-hum, so-so part of the story. No big deal, as similar busts are made repeatedly during the typical day on the streets of Tulsa.
Where it gets weird, really weird, are in the circumstances of Heath’s arrest and the allegations against him.
Heath’s road to the pokey began when cops were called to the Quick Trip store on north Sheridan Sunday evening on a report that a man was selling drugs in the parking lot
The cops contacted Heath inside the convenience store. It is alleged that Heath was concealing a can of beer. As officers approached Heath, he allegedly stuck a glass crack pipe into his mouth and began eating it.
Officers wrestled with Heath inside the store in an attempt to get the pipe away from him and ultimately got him under control and under arrest but not before calling for backup.
Somewhere along the way path between initial contact and booking at the jail, officers discovered that Heath was wearing an ankle monitor from a previous drug arrest.
And if that were not a bit of a surprise…
It was discovered that Heath was only 18 days away from being taken off probation.
Now he sits in the Tulsa jail with bond set at $2,750.
Unfortunately for Eljuan Heath, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has placed a “Hold without bond” order on him.
Seems there is that little matter of a probation violation hanging over his head…
