Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett Still An Idiot

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett has his knickers in a knot again and as usual is acting like an idiot.
This time over a church operated fireworks stand located on “Indian land” within the Tulsa city limits.
While the city is powerless to shut down the fireworks stand, owing to the fact it is located on Indian land, Bartlett has ordered that fireworks be confiscated from customers who purchase from the stand located at 11010 S. Yale Avenue.
In a Tulsa World report Bartlett is quoted as saying:
“This isn’t just about fireworks. We feel that it’s very important to us that we take a stand.”
The Mayor is further quoted as saying:
“If we don’t (take a stand), then what’s next? If the people that are using that land, if they feel they can get away with something like this, then they may put a casino there or a strip club.”
One would think that the Mayor would realize a couple of things from the fireworks stand flap.
First, not only is a fireworks stand on Indian land legal, so is a casino or a strip club for that matter and there’s not a thing the city can do about any of them.
Second, Tulsa already has a wealth, if you can call it that, of strip clubs and even a few casinos.
Wake up Mr. Mayor and join us in the 21st century…
