William James Smith Busted In Hammer Attack
A $100,000 bond has been set for a 34-year-old Ochelata man charged with attacking a family member with a hammer earlier in the week.
William James Smith was arrested Tuesday night in Bartlesville following the alleged attack at an Ochelata residence. He was taken into custody around 9:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Southwest Penn Avenue.
A charge of (family) assault with a dangerous weapon was filed Thursday in connection with an incident said to have occurred Tuesday evening at a house on 3952 Road in Ochelata.
According to the charge, Smith threatened his stepfather with bodily harm while armed with a hammer. It states that the stepfather blocked an attempt by the suspect to strike him on the head with the tool.
